AMD Announces Next-Generation Radeon Graphics Card Next Week In the early hours of Beijing, AMD released its third-quarter financial report. In the earnings conference call, AMD CEO Dirk Meyer also confirmed a long-held news that the Radeon HD 6000 series will be released next week.

Dirk Meyer confirmed in the conference call: "We will release our second-generation DX11 graphics card next week." Then he added: "We are about to bring the second-generation DX11 technology to market and some of the launch activities will be conducted next week. The full range of the product line will be shipped before the end of the quarter (before the end of the year), with shipments in the order of hundreds of thousands of units."

According to previous rumors, it is clear that the first products of the "second generation DX11 graphics card" referred to here, the Radeon HD 6870/6850, code-named Barts, will be released next week. Other new products introduced before the end of this year include the Radeon HD 6970/6950 codenamed Cayman, and the single-card dual-core HD 6990 codenamed Antilles.
