Atmel and digital HD Radio technology developer iBiquity Digital have announced that iBiquity Digital has certified Atmel's T4260 radio frequency (RF) tuning chip for use in automotive and home HD Radio receivers.The T4260 is a complete front-end solution for AM and FM reception. The chip is used for radio tuning and converts the signal to a frequency that the receiver can decode. The integrated high speed local PLL can lock for periods of less than 1 millisecond. Its flexible mid-wave (IF) output frequency allows the designer to adjust the integrated circuit to suit a variety of customer needs.
