Dialog's Bluetooth low energy transmission stereo HiFi audio technology will debut at the 2018 Bluetooth World Congress

This technology helps development engineers solve battery life challenges and achieve true wireless stereo system synchronization.

With the increasing demand for wireless audio in the market, a true wireless stereo (TWS) system without audio cables between earplugs has become the pinnacle of audio technology for consumer and professional use. However, the development of such a system is challenging: the existing implementations generally combine classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth low energy transmission technology to distribute audio between the left and right channels, which often leads to unbalanced battery usage and products. Battery life is limited.

Dialog's Bluetooth low energy transmission stereo HiFi audio technology will debut at the 2018 Bluetooth World Congress

In order to solve this challenge, Dialog has developed a proof-of-concept solution for audio transmission through Bluetooth low energy technology. This technology is based on Dialog's widely used SmartBondâ„¢ SoC and is the first implementation that only uses Bluetooth low energy transmission technology. It can achieve the best left and right channel audio synchronization in the industry, and provides the low power consumption performance of Bluetooth low energy.

Sean McGrath, senior vice president and general manager of the Connectivity Business Unit of Dialog Semiconductor, said: "End users have an obvious demand for true wireless stereo audio, especially in situations where there is only one cable between the earplugs, which will cause cumbersome and troublesome scenarios. In. Our proof-of-concept solution shows that Bluetooth low energy technology can provide wireless audio developers with the solutions they need, while overcoming the limitations of existing technologies and helping to realize the true potential of the device."

"By solving the problems of power consumption and audio synchronization, we have proved that Bluetooth low energy technology can eliminate the two major complaints from users. Device manufacturers will be able to provide true wireless stereo audio products to the consumer and professional wireless audio markets, making them The product achieves long battery life while simultaneously transmitting HiFi audio," Sean McGrath added.

Dialog Semiconductor will demonstrate this proof-of-concept solution for transmitting true wireless stereo audio via Bluetooth low energy at the 2018 Bluetooth World Congress (Santa Clara, California, September 18-19).
