OFweek smart home network news has been, Nest company did not add support for Apple's HomeKit platform, many people speculated that because of the competitive relationship between Google and Apple, Nest will never add HomeKit support. However, the fact does not seem to be the case.
On June 16th, Nest announced today that after some changes to the hardware certification requirements were announced, they were considering supporting the HomeKit platform. When asked if they would consider features that allowed legacy products to easily add support in iOS 11 systems, Nest stated that they did "consider HomeKit."
Apple made an important announcement at this year's WWDC conference that the HomeKit platform will introduce software verification support on iOS 11 systems. Hardware verification has always been a major obstacle between Nest and other unsupported platforms, but this will no longer be a problem in iOS 11.
So far, HomeKit's hardware certification requirements mean that many smart home functions cannot be added easily (or without increasing costs). Many functions meet the requirements of HomeKit when designing a new generation of products, but some companies refuse to accept it.
