Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Co., Ltd. ("Toshiba") introduced the unidirectional optical module [1] adapter "TOCA1300".
This new product is a unidirectional optical module adapter for connecting fiber optic transmission modules and fiber optic receiver modules for short-range data transmission. The TOCA1300 can replace the fiber when it is required to have a longer insulation distance than when using a photocoupler and a shorter transmission distance than a fiber optic cable. The adapter is combined with the Toshiba fiber coupler [2] for optical transmission.
Note:
[1] TOCA1300 has not yet passed any safety standards certification. Customers may need to evaluate and apply for certification from the appropriate authorities.
[2] When combined with the TOTX1350(F) fiber optic transmission module and the TORX1350A(F) or TORX1355(F) fiber optic receiver module.
Industrial equipment for applications (energy storage systems, high voltage inverters, etc.)
Features provide longer creepage distances than optocouplers.
Used for shorter transmission distances than fiber.
Can be used with TOTX1350(F) fiber optic transmission module and TORX1350A(F) or TORX1355(F) fiber optic receiver module
