China's LED industry will usher in the peak of development in 2010

The entire energy-saving lighting industry can be divided into three major categories: general fluorescent lamps, energy-saving lamps (compact fluorescent lamps), and LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes). Here we mainly introduce the market's broad energy-saving lamps and high-tech LED lighting.

Under the ban on incandescent lamps in various countries around the world, the demand for energy-saving lighting as a substitute will usher in rapid growth. China's LED industry has experienced rapid growth in 2007 and 2008, and will develop faster in 2009. Around 2010, it will usher in a new peak of development.

Incandescent ban forced the energy-saving lamp market

The waste caused by low energy efficiency in China in one year is equivalent to the power generation of 2.3 Three Gorges power stations. Ma Wei, a member of the 2008 Olympic Games Science and Technology Olympics Working Committee, issued such a warning. The use of energy-saving lamps is undoubtedly an important way to achieve energy-saving emission reduction targets.

In 2009, the country will promote 100 million efficient lighting products. The purpose of this move is to cope with the impact of the global financial crisis on high-efficiency lighting products manufacturers, to meet the needs of urban and rural residents for high-efficiency lighting products, expand the market share of energy-saving lamps, and strive for greater energy-saving and emission-reduction effects.

At the end of December last year, the National Development and Reform Commission launched the "China's phasing out of incandescent lamps and speeding up the promotion of energy-saving lamps". Previously, the National Development and Reform Commission and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in cooperation with the "China's phasing out incandescent lamps, speeding up the promotion of energy-saving lamps project" was approved by the Global Environment Foundation (GEF).

According to the project concept document, GEF funds China's $14 million and $250,000 project reserve to promote the transformation of incandescent lamp manufacturers, accelerate the improvement of energy-saving lamp promotion mechanisms, and formulate and implement China's phasing out of incandescent lamps and accelerate the promotion of energy-saving lamps. Roadmap and special planning.

China is a major producer and consumer of lighting products, with incandescent lamp production accounting for one-third of world production and compact fluorescent lamp production accounting for 80% of world production. China's lighting electricity accounts for about 12% of the total electricity consumption in the whole society. The use of energy-saving lamps instead of incandescent lamps can save 60%-80% of electricity. If all the existing incandescent lamps are replaced with energy-saving lamps, the annual energy saving will be 48 billion kWh, accounting for 60% of the power generated by the Three Gorges Power Station in 2008.

From the perspective of the structure of use, there are about 3 billion incandescent lamps for general lighting in China, and there are only about 400 million energy-saving lamps. The ratio of the two is about 7.5:1, compared with the global application ratio of about 4:1. Energy-saving lamps have not yet been widely used, and energy-saving lamps have considerable space to replace incandescent lamps.

As early as April 2008, the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission selected 13 high-efficiency lighting products manufacturers such as Zhejiang Sunshine (13.80, -0.34, -2.40%) and Xuelaite (8.17, -0.15, - 1.80%) through open tendering. , launched the country's first batch of 50 million high-efficiency lighting products promotion project. The central government subsidizes residential users at 50% of the winning bid price and subsidizes large users by 30%. Some localities have also formulated supporting subsidy policies. For example, on the basis of 50% of the state subsidized residential users in Beijing, the municipal and district finances subsidize 30% and 10% respectively, and launch a one-yuan energy-saving lamp policy; Shanxi and Guangxi Nanning are different users. According to the standard of 15%-40%, subsidies will be provided; in Hebei, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Yunnan and other places, energy-saving lamps will be distributed free of charge to low-income households, violent military units and difficult households.

As of the end of January 2009, with the support of relevant policies, the winning bidders promoted a total of 62 million energy-saving lamps, which exceeded the promotion tasks and achieved remarkable results in many aspects.

Due to the global recognition of the energy-saving and environmental protection effects of energy-saving lamps, European and American countries have successively issued schedules for incandescent lamps. By 2012, incandescent lamps will be banned in almost all developed countries. Energy-saving globalization will surely usher in a global opportunity for the concept of energy-saving lighting. Under the incandescent ban, the global energy-saving lamp market will grow rapidly.
