This LME49600 snubber chip is the latest in the National Semiconductor's high-fidelity LMETM audio amplifier family, providing enough output current to drive multiple low-impedance headphones and voltage swings to drive multiple high-impedance headset. The LME49600 chip is manufactured using National's proprietary and patented VIP3 process technology. Because this high-voltage, high-performance complementary bipolar process technology uses vertically integrated NPN and PNP transistors, it can increase the peak-to-peak swing of the output voltage, especially for high-end high-voltage audio systems.
The LME49600 is a high performance, low distortion, high fidelity audio headphone buffer that continuously outputs and receives 250mA. As long as this chip is added to the op amp feedback loop, the output current can be increased, the capacitive load drive capability can be improved, and the problem of overheat feedback can be solved in one fell swoop. The LME49600 can be supplied with different bandwidths via pins, including low currents that consume only 8mA, 110MHz bandwidth mode, and 180MHz wideband mode that consumes only 15mA. The applicable bandwidth can be easily selected by simply disconnecting the bandwidth control pin or by using a resistor to connect the bandwidth pin to the emitter voltage pin. Whenever the junction temperature rises above 150 degrees Celsius, these two protection functions are activated to provide full protection for the chip.
