To build a green home, Taiwan's Taipower Company set up the first large-scale smart microgrid on the island in Wuhu, seven islands, to build Wuhu into a national green energy low-carbon demonstration island with solar energy and wind energy “wind and solar complement†effect, and to take the first step to create renewable energy.
Taipower pointed out that Wuhu Qimei Island has a population of more than 4,000 people, and the average annual electricity consumption is about 7.8 million degrees. At this stage, solar power supply reaches 480,000 degrees.

Taipower stressed that the expansion of solar photovoltaic, wind power and other equipment capacity and energy storage systems will greatly increase green energy generation in the future, in addition to reducing carbon emissions, and reducing the current huge cost of diesel power generation of up to 16 yuan.
Taipower does not arbitrarily point out that the implementation of the energy storage system on the island of Taiwan at this stage is still not cost-effective. Therefore, it will be piloted by the Seven Mile Island in Wuhu. This is an indicator function for the construction of Wuhu as a low-carbon demonstration island for renewable energy, and it is expected to create in the future.
