Tong Xiangrong, dean of the School of Computer and Control Engineering at Yantai University, told reporters that artificial intelligence has become a major wave of technological development in the world and in China. The domestic artificial intelligence industry is developing very rapidly. From the perspective of the level of development, China has been able to compete with the world in most areas of artificial intelligence, and can even lead the way in some areas. The number of submissions and the number of papers published in the International Artificial Intelligence Conference Has surpassed the United States to become the number one.
"As the core of the new round of industrial transformation, artificial intelligence can be connected with many industries. It should be said that'artificial intelligence + industry' has a lot to do," Tong Xiangrong said. "In terms of academic research, we will focus on the development of distributed artificial intelligence, intelligent information processing, image processing and pattern recognition, machine learning and data mining, intelligent control systems and other technologies to promote the transformation of scientific research results and contribute to local economic development." It is reported that the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of Yantai University was established in July 2018. The research institute integrates artificial intelligence related disciplines (Computer Science and Technology, Control Theory and Engineering, Information and Computing Science, Electronic Information Science and Technology, Internet of Things Engineering). The superior resources of other disciplines have gathered a group of outstanding scholars in artificial intelligence-related research fields of Yantai University. The institute currently has more than 100 researchers, most of whom have graduated from domestic "985" and "211 Project" colleges and universities, and employ more than 10 artificial intelligence experts from the United States, Canada and other countries as part-time professors of the Institute .
