ZTE deploys the first TD-LTE commercial network in South Asia

On April 6th, BharTI Airtel, India's largest mobile operator, recently announced that it has completed the deployment of TD-LTE network and will be commercialized in the near future.

Bati Telecom users can experience high-speed download, video streaming and high-definition video conferencing services through the 4G network. Sanjay Kapoor, CEO of Batik Telecom (India and South Asia) said that the industry expects 6% of mobile users to experience high-speed data services through 4G networks by 2016, and 36% of data traffic is expected to come from such customers.

This is another cooperation between ZTE and overseas operators such as Japan's Softbank and Sweden's Hi3G after deploying TD-LTE commercial networks. It is reported that as of the end of 2011, ZTE had won 30 LTE commercial contracts, cooperated with more than 100 operators around the world and deployed a test network, covering Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East and other regions.

On March 5, 2012, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) announced the status of global patent applications in 2011. ZTE ranked first in the number of international patent applications of global enterprises with 2,826 PCT international patents.
