Chen Rangeng introduced that the idea of ​​“climbing the stairs to deliver robots” came from his mentor, Professor Wu Liqun and Dr. Wang Hongcheng, executive director of Hangzhou Electric Mechanical Engineering College. At the time of the rise of the express delivery industry, Professor Wu had the idea of ​​developing a highly intelligent express delivery robot, but he has been too busy to implement it. In 2016, Chen Rang let him go under Professor Wu and became his graduate student. After learning the mentor's golden ideas, he recruited technical research teams, more than 20 graduate students from the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Electronics, and the School of Communication. After the undergraduate students joined, they finally completed the development of the first, second and third generations of “climbing stairs delivery robots” after nearly half a year of hard work. During the project, the student team also independently established Hangzhou Hui Shijia Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., and was funded by the Economic Development Bureau of Hangzhou Dajiangdong Industrial Cluster and the Hangzhou Eagle Project.

Chen asked the team to say that the biggest problem encountered in R&D is “indoor navigation”. “Because there is no built-in navigation technology in the building in China. We use wifi, Bluetooth, etc. to achieve in-building navigation, and there is still a lot in this area. The space for improvement." Hangzhou Xiasha, a courier brother, after reading this "climbing stairs express delivery robot" demo said: "If the first floor of the residential accommodation building is open, a community with a robot, Can replace the courier. At present, the team is stepping up research and development of the fourth generation of delivery robots. "We want to upgrade the four wheels of the robot to two wheels, so that it can be moved in a small space, and it is faster to climb stairs and pass the ditch." Chen Jean is very confident. Professor Wu Liqun revealed that some venture capital companies have already contacted Chen Rang, and they want to invest in the “Climb Stairs to Deliver Robots” project. “The highest investment has already reached 5 million yuan. After the fourth generation of robots comes out, let’s think again. Introduce the possibility of investment scale production."
