European OLLA project releases white OLED research results

Recently, the European High-brightness Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) project for information and communication technology and lighting equipment (OLLA) jointly released its final research results: white OLED based on Novaled PINOLED technology, its initial brightness is 1000cd/m2, the luminous efficiency can be It reached 50.7 lm/W. The OLLA organization is a joint research team led by Philips Lighting.

The 45-month OLLA program, which began on October 1, 2004, has a budget of 2 million euros, of which 1.2 million euros comes from the European Union. The target performance requirement for developing OLED lamps in 2008 is 3030cm2 and 1,000cd. /m2, efficiency 50 lm / W, lifetime 10,000 hours and color reproduction index 70. Members of the OLLA team have achieved their desired goals in terms of efficacy, color performance and brightness, especially when the life of a Novaled device exceeds the target value by an order of magnitude.

The OLLA project manager from Philips Lighting said that high luminous efficiency and long life make OLEDs used in the field of lighting, becoming an innovative and energy-efficient future lighting product. Introducing OLED technology into the lighting market is a very important step.

Novaled believes that NovaledPINOLED technology has great potential in improving the luminous efficiency of OLEDs. It is believed that through this technology, OLED luminous efficiency can reach about 100lm/W in the near future.
