India Beggar: Protecting Employers Against Unmanned Cars

【Global Science and Technology Report】 According to "The Times of India" reported on July 25, India will ban unmanned vehicles to protect workers.

Nitin Gadkari, the country’s transportation minister, stated in a statement issued on the same day that due to the serious unemployment problem in India, the government will not allow any technology that will take away jobs. Gadekari also said that although India does indeed lack about 22,000 commercial drivers, the government is trying to set up training facilities throughout the country and it is expected to increase 5,000 professional drivers in the next few years.

However, according to Uber's former CEO Travis Kalanike and Google CEO Sandal Pichchai, it is unlikely that India will soon acquire a self-driving car because of chaotic roads and chaos in parts of the country. The traffic makes it difficult to introduce the safety of unmanned technology into the road. (Internship Compilation: Zheng Fuhong Reviewer: Li Zongze)
